How do I clean the soleplate in Birkenstock clogs?
My Birkenstock Birki clogs are a bit smelly. The sole is the kind of jute and suede. They do not recognize that you can use too much water, but the style of shoes is a bit dirty and not a leather upper, a little odor. There had no instructions on How to clean them. Suggestions? Get the soles replaced is not really an option. The shoes are less than 6 months. Gee, these are all good answers. I'll probably do a combination of second and third suggestions, and if all else fails, I suppose, to replace shirts.
I had the same problem with one of my leather sandals and took a wet towel and pour a little white vinegar, then rub gently the soiled surface. I let it air dry completely so there is no smell of vinegar. When completely dry use a brush flexible plastic over the area and should look quite different.
